About the role….

The position plays a crucial role in utilising data to drive decision-making, optimize performance, and enhance the audience experience within our organisation. The role holder will be a subject expert on data, implementation and best practice identifying patterns, trends, and insights that will inform strategic decisions.

The position sits within the central Data team and operates across all Xeim and The Lawyer brands at Centaur. Centaur is currently a hybrid working environment, with a minimum of one day per week for project catch-ups in the Waterloo office

Responsibilities

Technical Expertise

  • Use data mining to extract information from data sets and identify correlations and patterns
  • Organise and transform information into comprehensible structures
  • Use data to predict trends in the customer base and the consumer population as a whole
  • Perform statistical analysis of data
  • Use tools and techniques to visualise data in easy-to-understand formats, such as diagrams and graphs
  • Prepare reports and present these to internal stakeholders
  • Monitor data quality and remove corrupt data
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to understand data content and business requirements

Product Expertise

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments and capabilities across the business
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology developments within the IT/digital industry, specifically around data and data warehousing

Relationship Management

  • Develop & maintain relationships with
  • Digital, Data & IT team
  • Key internal brand stakeholders
  • Digital individuals and teams across the wider business

What we need from you…

Skills:

  • Strong SQL and data manipulation skills, with deep knowledge of relevant relational databases
  • A solid understanding of data sources, data organisation and storage
  • In-depth knowledge of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques
  • Strong experience in understanding of reporting and data visualisation tools such as Business ObjectsPowerBI and Tableau
  • Understanding of ETL framework and ETL tools including dbt and Microsoft SSIS
  • Detail oriented and analytical mind with problem solving capabilities

Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in data analytics, statistics, statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques, or related disciplines

  • The ability to effectively communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders, both in writing and verbally
  • Proven expertise in data manipulation concepts, structures, and technology
  • Experience managing multiple projects with competing deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Appreciation of working across a diverse stack
